Yes, Shepardware is technically misspelled. As Shakespeare said,
"What′s in a name?" Well, if that name is misspelled,
there is a lot being said and none of it good. So why is Shepardware
not spelled Shepherdware?
Well, for starters, I do not like the way Shepherd looks. I believe
the root words are "Shep" (or sheep) and "herd"
(as in a group of animals). That is why it is not pronounced
"Shefford". To solve this possible phonetic problem, one must
remove the "H". While I was at it, I changed the second
"E" to an "A" for variety. So there you have it:
the history of the name (more or less).
